Before we started Empire Rx, we were on the other side of the counter. We're two pharmacists from Brooklyn, and for years we bought from wholesalers the way every independent does: juggling three portals to fill one order, opening totes to find short dating nobody warned us about, calling about an invoice and getting a phone tree.
Eventually we stopped complaining and started a wholesale company instead. Empire Rx Distributors runs out of Staten Island, New York, supplying independent pharmacies with Rx generics, OTC medications, and diabetic supplies. We're NABP accredited and state licensed, and the company runs on one rule we set on day one: sell the way we always wanted to be sold to.
Our mission
Keep good medication affordable for the pharmacies that keep their neighborhoods healthy. That's the whole thing. What we stock, how we price it, and who answers the phone all get measured against it.
How we work
The price is the price
No teaser pricing that changes once you've signed up. The number you see in the catalog is the number that lands on your invoice.
Dating shown before you buy
Every listing shows its expiration date up front. If something is short-dated, it's labeled and discounted. It doesn't get slipped into your tote at full price.
A supply chain we can document
Authorized trading partners only, full DSCSA paperwork with every shipment. If we can't prove where a product has been, we don't sell it. Simple as that.
Answer the phone
Call us and a person picks up. Often it's one of the owners. Your store is a name here, not an account number.
Who's behind it
Empire Rx is owned and run by Omar Mohamed, PharmD, MBA and Khaled Mohamed, PharmD, MBA, two licensed pharmacists from Brooklyn. No parent company, no layers. The people who set the prices are the people who answer for them.

Empire Rx Distributors holds NABP Drug Distributor Accreditation. We sell only to licensed pharmacies, we verify state licensure before the first shipment leaves, and DSCSA transaction data travels with every order. You can check the accreditation yourself rather than take our word for it.
